If you have any questions about adhesives, please contact us and we will respond as soon as possible.

EVA hot melt adhesive FAQs

A1.Hot melt adhesive is the most suitable adhesive for furniture edge banding. EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) edge banding hot melt adhesive and PUR (Polyurethane) edge banding hot melt adhesive are widely used in the market. The advantages of EVA hot melt adhesive are relatively low cost and simple operation. The advantages of PUR hot melt adhesive are good moisture resistance and solvent resistance, and high bonding strength.

A2.At present, the edge banding machines on the market all use hot melt adhesive for edge banding, which can be divided into EVA hot melt adhesive and PUR hot melt adhesive. Hot melt adhesive is deeply loved by furniture manufacturers due to its simple operation process, strong bonding strength and water resistance.

A3.Our edge banding hot melt adhesive is suitable for MDF, particle board, solid wood board, aluminum honeycomb panel banding PVC, ABS, melamine, solid wood veneer, paper, etc.

A4.If you are using EVA edge-banding hot melt adhesive, the temperature should be between 130-210°C (manual slow speed: 130-150°C, machine medium speed: 150-180°C, machine fast speed: 180-210°C) depending on the edge-banding speed. If you are using PUR edge-banding hot melt adhesive, the temperature should be between 130-160°C.

A5.Air filters need to be bonded with hot melt adhesive because hot melt adhesive has the advantages of fast curing, high and low temperature resistance, and flexibility of the adhesive film. Common filter hot melt adhesives are EVA and polyolefin.

A6.You need to first confirm the material of the edge banding strip and the type of hot melt adhesive (EVA hot melt adhesive or PUR hot melt adhesive), then melt the glue through the heating device and evenly apply it on the board, and then cover the edge banding strip. At the edge of the board, wait for natural cooling to normal temperature to complete the bonding of the edge strips.

Water-based adhesive FAQs

A1.Depending on factors such as the solid content of white glue, the density of the wood, the temperature and humidity of the environment, and whether high-frequency curing is used, the drying time of white glue is between 30 seconds and 1 hour, but it takes more than 24 hours for the glue to completely cure.

A2.Polyvinyl acetate glue (PVA) is the most suitable glue for bonding veneer. It is deeply loved by furniture manufacturers mainly because of its excellent penetration performance, coating method and low price.

A3.The most common way to bond veneer to MDF board is to use polyvinyl acetate glue. Apply glue to the veneer and MDF surface with a roller or brush, and then use an iron to heat and pressurize to complete the bonding.

A4.Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) glue is suitable for the process of machine pasting stickers on MDF and particleboard wood in furniture manufacturing.

A5.The biggest difference between solvent-based adhesives and water-based adhesives is environmental friendliness, curing time and cost-effectiveness. Water-based adhesives are relatively more environmentally friendly and cheaper, and have a longer curing time.

A6.Water-based adhesives can meet the D3 waterproof test, but if immersed in water for a long time, the glue will still dissolve in water and lose its bonding properties.

A7.Cold pressed veneer glue is polyvinyl acetate (PVA) glue, which is used to bond veneer to solid wood boards, medium density boards, particleboards, plywood, etc. It is cured by natural drying and no additional heating is required during the bonding process.

PUR hot melt adhesive FAQs

A1.PUR (Polyurethane) edge banding adhesive is a popular furniture edge banding adhesive. After being melted into liquid by a melting furnace, it reacts with water vapor in the air to form adhesion. It has the advantages of moisture resistance, high temperature resistance, and solvent resistance. Compared with traditional EVA hot melt adhesive, it has better bonding strength and cannot be melted again after the temperature rises.

A2.The curing of pur edge banding glue is divided into two stages. The early curing is physical curing, which takes 5-10 minutes to give the glue a certain bonding strength. The next step is chemical curing, which achieves the final strength by reacting with water vapor in the air. The time is between 48 and 96 hours, and the bonding strength of the glue will gradually increase.

A3.PUR hot melt adhesive is waterproof ,It can be soaked in water without losing its bonding properties. It is the first choice glue for making moisture-proof furniture.

Other adhesives FAQs

A1.There is no such thing as the best glue for bonding wood, only the most suitable one. As long as the wood can be damaged after being bonded with glue, it is the most suitable woodworking glue. Common types of woodworking glue include: polyvinyl acetate (PVA) glue, polyurethane glue, cyanoacrylate glue, epoxy resin glue, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) hot melt glue, etc.

A2.To choose the right woodworking adhesive, you need to consider: the type of wood being bonded, the bond strength of the glue, drying time, color, viscosity, shelf life, etc.

A3.There are three types of glue suitable for sealing cartons: water-based sealing glue, hot melt sealing glue and animal protein glue sealing glue. The difference between these three types of glue lies in the speed of curing.

A4.In the wood field, epoxy resin glue is mainly used for 45-degree and 90-degree assembly of wood and flat splicing. Due to its excellent bonding strength, it is deeply loved by furniture manufacturing factories.

A5.Cyanoacrylate adhesives (CA) are fast-drying wood glues that can cure in as little as 3 seconds.

A6.To make wood glue dry quickly, you can increase the drying speed by adjusting the glue type, ambient temperature, ambient humidity, air convection, heating curing, high-frequency curing, etc.

A7.Glues suitable for assembling wooden parts include polyvinyl acetate (PVA) glue, epoxy resin glue, Cyanoacrylate adhesives (CA), etc. You can choose according to the characteristics of different glues.

A8.The glues used in furniture production include: polyvinyl acetate (PVA) glue, EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) hot melt adhesive, PUR (Polyurethane) hot melt adhesive, epoxy resin glue, Cyanoacrylate adhesives (CA), etc. The most widely used furniture glue is polyvinyl acetate (PVA) glue.

A9.According to the current production glue usage of cabinet manufacturers, hot melt glue is the most widely used, followed by polyvinyl acetate (PVA) glue.

A10.Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) glue and hot melt glue are the most suitable glues for book binding. Hot melt glue is suitable for manufacturers pursuing high efficiency. Book manufacturers can choose the type of glue based on their own production efficiency.

A11.Depending on the type of wood and the bonding process, use appropriate woodworking glue (PVA glue, epoxy resin glue, quick-drying glue, etc.) to coat the wood, and use tools to fix it and apply pressure to complete the two pieces of wood. bonding.

A12.Epoxy resin glue is most suitable for repairing wood cracks. When repairing, you can add wood chips to the glue to increase sealing and aesthetics.
