Filter hot melt adhesive is commonly used by filter manufacturers (household or industrial air filters, automotive air conditioning filters, etc.) to bond filter paper, non-woven fabrics and plastics. Our filter element hot melt adhesive has the characteristics of safety, environmental protection, odorlessness, fast curing speed and tough film. It can pass GB/T 18583-2008, ROHS, REACH, phthalate 17P, odorlessness and other environmental tests.

Application :Bonding of filter paper folds, filters, non-woven fabrics, fibers and ABS, plastics, paper frames, etc. Depending on the materials and requirements that the filter element factory needs to bond, we have EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) filter hot melt adhesive, PO (polyolefin) filter hot melt adhesive, and PA (polyamide) filter hot melt adhesive.

Substrate requirements:The surface of filter paper and non-woven fabric should be flat, clean and tidy, with clear folds, and must not have grease, dust or other debris. If special plastic materials need to be bonded, pre-treatment is required.

Glue amount:The glue amount depends on the thickness of the fold and the looseness of the pores of the bonding filter paper.

Ambient requirements: The optimal temperature range is between 15-30 ℃, and the air humidity should be maintained at around 40-75%

How to use filter hot melt adhesive

  1. You need to communicate with the hot melt adhesive supplier about your bonding requirements (filter paper material, glue toughness, glue curing time, finished product testing requirements, etc.), and provide reasonable filter element hot melt adhesive use.
  2. Adjust the machine’s sol temperature and glue application amount, put the hot melt adhesive into the glue pot, and start applying the glue after the glue melts to the specified temperature.
  3. After the hot melt adhesive is applied to the bonding material, a certain amount of pressure needs to be applied to the material to facilitate better penetration of the glue.
  4. When the temperature of the hot melt adhesive gradually cools down, the materials will be bonded together, and the bonding process will be successfully completed.

Application notes

  1. This air filter can be used in laboratories, sterile rooms, farms, car air conditioners, household air conditioners, household air purifiers, etc.
  2. Before making a flat filter element, a small batch test is required to ensure that the amount of glue sprayed is appropriate to avoid glue breakage.
  3. The substrate structure and operating environment will affect the bonding effect. It is recommended to try it first. The bonding surface should be free of dust and grease.
  4. It is recommended to use an ambient temperature of 15-30℃. If the ambient temperature is lower than 10℃, the ambient temperature needs to be heated.
  5. Keep the glue tank clean. During normal use, if the amount of glue is less than half, glue particles must be added in time.

Filter hot melt adhesive FAQs

Q1. Why does the filter fold appear “disconnected”?

A1.a. The selected filter hot melt adhesive lacks flexibility. b. Insufficient amount of glue applied. c. Insufficient pressure applied after glue application. d. The ambient temperature is too low and the hot melt adhesive solidifies prematurely.

Q2. Why does the filter hot melt adhesive smell pungent?

A2.a. EVA hot melt adhesive is selected, not polyolefin hot melt adhesive. b. The filter hot melt adhesive supplier uses unqualified raw materials. c. The sol temperature is too high and the hot melt adhesive has been carbonized.

Q3. Why can’t the filter hot melt adhesive bond the material?

A3.a. The melt temperature of the hot melt adhesive is set too low. b. The conveyor speed is too slow. c. Insufficient amount of glue applied. d. The ambient temperature is too low, resulting in a low surface temperature of the bonded material. e. Insufficient pressure applied.
