The chemical name of PUR hot melt adhesive is: moisture curing reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive. This PUR flat lamination hot melt adhesive has excellent fluidity, wettability and initial adhesion, as well as excellent bonding strength and heat resistance, aging resistance and low temperature resistance. It can pass GB/T 18583-2008, ROHS, REACH, phthalate 17P and other tests.

Application :It is used for flat bonding of PVC film, paper film, metal foil, acrylic, fireproof paper and density board, melamine board, multi-layer board, solid wood board, Chevron board, wood plastic board, aluminum board, glass magnesium board and other materials.

Substrate requirements: The surface should be flat, clean and tidy, without grease, dust or other debris, and the glue should be evenly applied on the surface of the substrate (PVC film or board can be applied).

Gluing amount: 40-100 g/㎡ (the amount of gluing depends on the thickness and roughness of the substrate).

Environmental requirements: 15-30℃ is the best, and the air humidity should be maintained at around 50-75%.

How to use PUR flat lamination hot melt adhesive?

  1. Confirm the board(density board, melamine board, multi-layer board, solid wood board, Chevron board, wood plastic board, aluminum board, glass magnesium board etc.) and material (PVC film、PET film、PP film、Acrylic、Leather、Paper etc.) to be bonded, and ask the hot melt adhesive supplier to provide the appropriate glue.
  2. Set the machine’s melt temperature, the pressure of the glue roller, the amount of glue applied, etc.
  3. Let the board pass through the conveyor belt into the dust removal device to remove dust on the surface of the board.
  4. Apply the PUR hot melt adhesive evenly on the surface of the board, and then press the bonding material flatly on the board.
  5. It is recommended to let the bonded board stand for more than 24 hours before proceeding to the next processing step.

Materials suitable for flat lamination

Application notes

  1. The PVC film needs to be back-coated, the MDF surface needs to be flat and clean, and the plastic steel, wood plastic and acrylic boards need to be activated.
  2. The recommended ambient temperature is 15-30℃. If it is lower than 10℃, heating equipment needs to be added.
  3. The glue cannot come into contact with air or water vapor before use.
  4. The glue port needs to be sealed when production is stopped. If the machine is shut down for more than 1 week, it is recommended to clean the hose and glue port.

Pur flat lamination hot melt adhesive FAQs

Q1. Why can’t the board and material be bonded together after using PUR flat lamination hot melt adhesive?

A1. a. The bonding was performed after the glue open time. b. The bonding pressure was insufficient. c. The board surface was overheated before bonding. d. The amount of glue applied was insufficient. e. The surface dyne value of the bonding material was lower than 38.
