what is vacuum membrane glue
Vacuum membrane wrapping glue belongs to a classification of woodworking glue and is often used in wooden door factories, cabinet factories, speaker factories, etc. Vacuum membrane wrapping glue usually uses polyurethane emulsion as the main component. It has good film-forming properties and has excellent heat resistance and water resistance after cross-linking.
Where are vacuum membrane glue mainly used
Vacuum membrane wrapping glue is mainly used in materials such as PVC film, decorative paper, and wood (particle board, density board, etc.) to form three-dimensional shapes through positive and negative pressure vacuum suction. As a type of woodworking adhesive, it can be used to produce wooden doors, cabinet doors, speaker boards, computer desks, etc. It is widely accepted by the market for its advantages of excellent quality and price.
Below is the basic knowledge of vacuum membrane wrapping glue. I hope this knowledge of woodworking glue will be helpful to you.
How to use vacuum membrane wrapping glue
Gluing method: Use a glue gun for spraying. The optimal diameter of the spray gun nozzle is 1.5-2.5mm. If the diameter of the spray gun is too small, it will easily block the spray gun and affect the work efficiency of the workers.if the diameter is too large, it can easily lead to the inability of the adhesive to form atomization effect, and it is easy to produce orange peel after bonding.
The air pressure is 3-4kgf/cm², and the distance between the spray gun nozzle and the surface to be sprayed is 150-250mm. When spraying, it needs to move in a straight line to keep the glue thickness uniform.
The amount of glue applied: 50-70g/㎡ for flat surfaces, approximately 80-100 g/m2 for sections and grooves (specific glue application amount depends on the actual situation of the substrate)。when spraying glue, it is necessary to spray it evenly.compared to the flat surface, the side and concave convex surfaces of the board need to be appropriately increased in the amount of glue sprayed.
What is the appropriate moisture content of the board
The moisture content of the board: Before spraying glue, please confirm that the moisture content of the board is between 6% and 14%. If conditions permit, it is best to control it between 8% and 12%. If the moisture content of the board is too high, it can easily cause vacuum membrane wrapping glue to not penetrate into the board;
On the contrary, if the moisture content is too low, it will cause all the glue to be absorbed by the board, resulting in the inability to form adhesion on the board. After spraying glue on the board, the best effect is to touch the board with your hand and a little bit sticky on the surface of the board.
How long does it take to dry after glue spraying
Drying time: After spraying, it needs to be naturally dried for 15-30 minutes (the specific time is determined by the temperature, humidity, and amount of glue applied in the on-site environment). If the drying time is too long, it can be considered to dry in an oven for 60-120 seconds before vacuum molding.
However, in actual applications, if it is necessary to add a hardener to increase the temperature resistance,it is recommended to mix as much as possible, because the prepared adhesive can be left for too long, which will reduce the final bonding strength and temperature resistance of the finished product.
Once you understand the above basic processes, you can proceed to the next vacuum treatment.
